The Take Back Africa Foundation is going to Liberia this December! With supporting female education as our service project priority area for this year, we will be fundraising school supplies and feminine hygiene products from October 18th to December 1st to donate to several schools in Monrovia, Liberia. . Africa is by far the youngest continent in the world and of all regions, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rates of education exclusion. Without urgent action, the situation will likely get worse as the region faces a rising demand for education due to a still-growing school-age population. We believe that investing in female education is what’s needed to impact the socio-economic development of the African continent. By investing in young girls, we are taking back the narrative of what it means to be African as well as providing resources making us part of the solution!

MORE THAN A HASHTAG (#ENDSARS: THE ROLE OF SECURITY AND POLICING IN AFRICAN SOCIETIES)
As you are aware, Nigerians have taken to the streets both in Nigeria youth and in the diaspora to protest police brutality with a movement known as the #EndSARS movement. On October 20, 2020, the Nigerian military used violence to crackdown on protesters, resulting in several deaths. The Take Back Africa Foundation stands in solidarity with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reform and seeking an end to corruption in their democracy. With this being said, we would like to bring awareness to the current protest but also engage in a larger a dialogue about the role of security and policing in African societies by having a zoom webinar on November 14, 2020. The goal of this event was to bring awareness to the current situation in Nigeria in regard to the ongoing protests against police brutality but also engage in a larger dialogue about the role of security and policing in African societies. Many African countries are experiencing similar (violations of civil rights) by police and there is a larger reason for this that must also be addressed. The event was held via Zoom on Saturday, November 14th from 1:00PM – 2:30PM CST. As a leader and current participant in the movement, you are an especially galvanizing voice in our community.
