The mission of the Take Back Africa Foundation is to build networks through creative partnerships with Diaspora led initiatives to improve the socio-economic status of Africa, while leveraging innovation to make the continent sustainable for future generations. We want to bridge the gap with those in the Diaspora both domestically and afar to empower communities within the continent to transform Africa.
Africa is by far the youngest continent in the world with Millennials making up at least 30% of the population. However, the state of leadership in many countries on the continent does not reflect that. We believe that Africa is at a crossroads and that it is time for a change. There are two major issues that plague the continent today: the future of the post-colonial state, because of the recurring socio-political crises, and the need to invent a new method of governance, without which the democratic process risks being compromised. We believe that African millennials are ripe to take on the challenges that Africa faces. Hence why the Take Back Africa Foundation was formed, we are a 501C3 nonprofit in the state of Minnesota.
The Take Back Africa Foundation is proud to bring to you our social series focused on connecting African millennials within the diaspora to one another as well as volunteer opportunities! We are ready to be the change that we want to see in this world.
The main goals of the summit is to advocate for the grass roots/millennials ran initiatives on the African continent. We want to focus on impact and innovation work while investing in projects led by African millennials within the diaspora.
The summit seeks to create a network of African millennials to help bridge the gap of development by supporting each other as we take on projects on the continent.
